  Pisang merupakan tumbuhan yang banyak hidup di Indonesia. Hampir setiap daerah di Indonesia bisa ditumbuhi pohon pisang. Pohon pisang mudah sekali ditanam. Pohon pisang dapat tumbuh di daerah dataran tinggi maupun rendah. Hingga banyak pekarangan-pekarangan di lahan penduduk atau di sawah-sawahnya yang ditanami pohon pisang. Pohon pisang tidak sulit untuk dibudidayakan, karena memang pohon pisang tidak terlalu membutuhkan banyak pupuk.

Pohon pisang merupakan tumbuhan yang berkembangbiak biak dengan cara vegetatif. Perkembangbiakannya dengan cara tunas. Tunas pohon pisang akan muncul atau tumbuh di sekitar pohon induknya. Tunas-tunas inilah yang akan menjadi tanaman baru dari pohon pisang tersebut. Tunas tersebut bisa dibiarkan hidup di bawah induknya atau juga bisa dipindahkan ke lahan lain jika sudah cukup besar. Pohon pisang merupakan  tanaman yang sekali berbuah, setelah berbuah maka biasanya pohon pisang akan mati.
